As you turn each page, you will be find forgiveness, new beginnings, unlikely friendships and love through God and for others.   You will experience anger (There were times I wanted to get revenge on some characters), frustration , surprises ( totally unexpected), smiles, laughter, forgiveness, romance (Oh, the romantic scenes, have your smelling salts handy for swooning) and love.   A love from God and for others.     Visit Pepper at pepperdbasham.com and on Facebook, Twitter and other social media.     Blessings,     Karen

December 9, 2015            Isn’t the cover of this book beautiful? I read T.K. Chapin’s novella   “Love Again”   last night in one setting. Yes, its that good. He has written a heartwarming novella of new   beginnin gs, the hurdles of life, celebrating the passing of a godly loved one. You’ll experience family closeness through Jill’s family. Included is a reminder of not judging someone on what you see and how to see with a new perspective. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and you will too. A great time of year to read this novella and to be encouraged in whatever is happenings in your life! You can follow T.K. Chapin on his blog TKChapin.com         Blessings,   Karen

December 8, 2015            Today is release day for “In The Shadow of Your Wings” by A.M. Richardson.   The second book   in her Ancient Words Series.   This is a great book.   It is a emotional book, I laughed, I cried (and i t takes a well written scene to accomplish this when I read).   I found myself at times trying to warn the characters of the dangers they faced.   A.M. Richardson weaves salvation all through this stor y as well as compassion.   Today through Friday, there is a Facebook Release Party celebrating the release of this wonderful book.     Blessings,   Karen

HAPPY FRIDAY!!        It is raining here in Southern Oklahoma and I so enjoy the rain especially when I can curl up with a cup of coffee and a great book. This past month has been really busy and I haven't had the opportunity to post. It was my busiest time of the year at work and my husband and I became grandparents again with the birth of grandson. Oh my, he is so precious!      My review today is on Melanie Dickerson's "The Golden Braid". I enjoy reading Melanie's books as she recreates fairy tales in a way that leaves you spellbound and anxious to read the next book. I do like all of her books but "The Golden Braid" is my favorite. I didn't want to stop reading, it kept me captivated from the start. She weaves the characters from the previous books in this series into the pages of the next book. I love that, not only am I introduced to new characters but I catch up on previous characters. This is a must read series and a must read b

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 29, 2015 It has been a busy time at work getting ready for the annual meeting. I'm still reading, of course. I just have not been able to post anything because of the time. REVIEWS FOR TWO BOOKS I'VE READ AMONGST THE FLAMES BY T.K. CHAPIN I enjoyed this book. I read it in two days. The heart of the story is family. This is seen through a male firefighter's perspective, Cole's. God draws Cole back to Him when everything Cole takes for granted in one day is gone. You see God's hand all through this novel in a healing and mighty way. I enjoyed seeing this story through the eyes of the main character, Cole. The problem that surfaces in his life is one that affects many marriages today. Cole is faced with a decision that will change his whole life. This novel gathers marital problems and reveals that godly men are not quiet but they take a stand on God's word and mentor those that cross their path. The mentor to Cole is a likeable guy that en

I enjoyed this book, It has a different perspective from one soldier that I don't remembering reading in any other Civil War Fiction Book. The author weaves God's graciousness all through the pages. September 14, 2015 I hope everyone has had a great weekend! It has been a bit cooler here in Oklahoma, I love this kind of weather. I finished reading "The Lost Heiress" by Roseanna M. White This is the first book by her that I have read and I will be reading more. "The Lost Heiress" is a delightful book that keeps you on your toes not knowing who exactly can be trusted within the pages. It was hard to put down. The story is beautifully written and the storyline very well thought out and put to paper. The good characters will find their way into your heart and you will find yourself wanting to warn them of the evil characters. I won't go into details because you need to read the book. Believe me, you will not be disappointed. Visit Roseanna M. White's blog at http://roseannamwhite.blogspot.com/ Also she can be found on Facebook and Goodreads. Blessings, Karen Hadley I received this book from BethanyHouse Publishers in exchange for my hones

AUGUST 31, 2015 Psalm 18: 1-2       " I Love You, Lord; You are my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the strength of my salvation, and stronghold." This is such a awesome and humbling prayer. God reminds me how limited I am in facing all the stuff life throws at me. But He is not limited. He is limitless! There is absolutely nothing in my life or your life that God can't handle. Psalm 18 is written by David at a time when he was being attacked by enemies. David was confident in God's protection. We can be confident in God's protection. Even as I write this satan, the enemy is attacking in a very vulnerable area in my life. I cling to God! He is my lifeline! Yet I struggle with what I believe and the emotions that intercept that belief. It feels like tug of war in my heart.  These two verses are a continuous  prayer and a constant reminder of just how great is my God. Dail

HAPPY MONDAY FROM OKLAHOMA! My latest book that I read is "Born Of Persuasion" by Jessica Dotta. This is the first book that I have read by her.  I am a forever fan after reading book one in her series "The Price of Privelege". First let me say "WOW"! From the first word you read you will be drawn into Julia's life. Beautiful, trusting, innocent orphan who is willing to trust everyone but soon learns the hard way that not everyone is trustworthy. Jessica engages her readers into a magnificently written book and keeps you reading long past bedtime. It is packed full of secrets and the suspense will have you holding your breath. The characters are witty and fascinating. Hold on as you twist and turn throughout the book. Jessica definitely has her own style in her writing and it is refreshing. Excellent Book! Here is a sneak peek of Book One: http://www.jessicadotta.com/ L ATER, when I allowed myself to confront the memories, to dwell

JULY 29, 2015     Tamera Alexander does it again, she writes an incredible Christian historical novel. I love horses. Although I haven't actually ridden one in reality, in Tamera's "To WIn Her Favor" I am riding like the wind (or soaring as the heroine's father called it). While reading this I wanted to switch places with Maggie just to be around horses, riding them, caring for them and forging friendship with these incredible creatures. Tamera weaves how God can change a person's outlook on others that are not of their class as He did with Maggie. She reminds us of the problem of racial prejudice and how it isn't gone but still rears its ugly head. I think my favorite character though is Mr. Harding (who you read about in both Belle Mead books by Tamera. He is successful and southern to the core but the difference is he is a fair, giving and powerful character. In reading this book and be for warned it is hard to put down, you will find s

HAPPY MONDAY! I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND!! I've been having trouble with my blog so hopefully this time it will post right! Here are some quick reviews of books that I have read in the past two weeks. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have! "Lady Maybe" by Julie Klassen I love Julie's books! I haven't read any that didn't capture my attention fully! Late nights, early mornings and sleepy days were the norm for me while reading books by Julie Klassen. There is a life changing secret that you'll try to discover as you turn each page. One of the things I like about Julie's books is that she tackles some hard topics, her heroines and hero's of her books don't always have the best of reputation or past. But who does? We are all human, we all mess up, we sin and Julie weaves the differences God makes in their lives to change them to become a better person and to follow the Lord. Yes, they suffer the consequences  of the

JULY 20, 2015 GOOD MORNING FRIENDS! It is a beautiful morning here in southern Oklahoma! I want to share with you some encouraging words from books written by Lysa Terkeurst!   I keep a small notebook to write down excerpts from authors books. Below are excerpts out of Lysa Terkeurst Books: “It’s easy to do the right things when we see immediate results. But sometimes I think it pleases God for His girls to do the right thing even when the results are no so immediate.” “Lasting, satisfying love will only be found when we stop chasing others or possessions, and thirst for the things of God.” “If your in a season of doubt, backtrack and remember all the places where God has been so faithful before in your life. And know with assurance and boldness and confidence, He is the same Faithful G od.” “Real faith isn’t a hopeful wish. Real faith is making the decision that no matter the outcome, we’ll choose to see it as God’s perfect answer. Through the good. T
