APRIL 28, 2018    One of many authors I really enjoy reading their books is Julie Lessman. Her books  are wonderful, full of love, humor, drama and written in a way where you feel like  you are right there. I just finished "Grace Like Rain" and of course, it was great. One of many things I love is the family closeness of the McClare's and the closeness between Grace and her grandpa, a retired judge. It makes you want  to visit the family and move in.  If you have never read any of her books, be prepared to be hooked. Blessings, Karen Rating: 5 Here is a synopsis taken from Amazon: He’s everybody’s lovable rogue. She’s nobody’s fool who hopes to steer clear. Until a thunderstorm sinks them both into a sea of love. Blake “The Rake” McClare has a notorious reputation as a womanizer, which is why soft-spoken Patience Peabody carefully avoids the lovable rogue attorney at the law firm in which they both work. Until a rare thunderstorm brin...

APRIL 26, 2018 Happy Thursday! It is finally leaning toward nicer weather. I love how color pops out everywhere. Flowers blooming in colors only God could create. The green of the grass that lifts your mood. The beautiful birds chirping a cheery "hello." The perfect temperature in the morning that craves for you to pull up a chair and open God's word. I love the Psalms!             Here are a few to focus on today: Psalm 9:1-2  "I will praise You, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. I will be filled with joy because of You. I will sing praises to Your name, O Most High." Psalm 16:8 "I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me." Psalm 118: 1 "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His faithful love endures forever." Psalm 116: 1-2 "I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray a...

MY THOUGHTS:  It takes remarkable talent to take a classic and write it in a new way. Rebekah Jones has  that talent. I loved this story. If Alice, Eloise and Richard were real people I know we would all be friends. Their love for God and for helping others is beautiful. I loved Sidney Dennison, his quietness, his loyalty to his friends and sister, the way he takes responsibility and fulfill his duties as a ranch owner. But, most of all, the way he conducts himself even in rejection.  You will keep turning the page because you don't want to put it down.  A beautiful novel! Blessings, Karen Hadley Rating: 5* This book was a gift and all opinions are my own. Happy Friday! April 13th is a special day for me. It's the day I became a mother for the first time. 31 years ago God blessed me with a beautiful baby boy. I'm so proud of my oldest and wish him the happiest of birthdays! He's a reader like me! (my head just grew a bit bigger, lol) He likes different genre than I do but he reads and that is pretty awesome.        Speaking of reading, I love Dana Mentink's books. Her new book Treacherous Trails is a must read! Right from the first pages you will be hooked. It is so interesting to read about Ella's job as a farrier. I totally fell in love with the Thorn family. They step outside of their family comfort zone to help Ella and her sister. They exhibit the great love of Christ through out the book and that definitely catches my attention. Can Owen Thorn help her find who is trying to frame her for murder? This book is full of suspense, mystery, wonders and strong hint of romance. I mean, when you add cowboys and myster...

MY THOUGHTS:         I love medieval stories! Jody Hedlund is clearly skilled and gifted in her medieval books. Actually, all of Jody's books I've read are awesome.          In "A Loyal Heart" I read about a courageous young lady who is loyal to those she loves and does anything to protect them. That's great but bless her heart she can't seem to stay out of trouble in the middle of being captured and causing Sir Aldric all sorts of unrest. But, the one person she longs to love her is too selfish but demands loyalty in spite of her desire. Who is this person who is so demanding of her? Can she help her young brother have the opportunity for healing? Will she be able to live up to what is expected of her? READ THE BOOK! Blessings, Karen Rating: 5* I received this book as a gift and all opinions are my own. Giveaway To celebrate her tour, Jody is giving away a grand prize of An Uncertain Choice, A Daring S...
