Karen Hadley's Review of "The Thorn Bearer" by Pepper D. Basham

“The Thorn Bearer” has been in my TBR list and I could hardly wait to read it.  This is written by Pepper D. Basham and she hits it out of the park. It is a historical romance and I enjoyed learning about the Lusitania Ocean Liner. She weaves the facts into an amazing story of letting go of the past,  being set free of the chains of guilt and redemption by an Awesome God!  The way she addresses an unfortunate yet hideous evil will help those who know first hand of this horrific crime. Pepper opens up truth I never gave much thought to in regards to the victims. The relationships that are affected and the guilt the victims carry are overwhelming. It is also about second chances, new beginnings and changes of the heart, beliefs and attitudes that only God can bring. Toward the end, the incident with the horse made me laugh out  loud. I won’t say anymore about that except read the book. I anxiously await book 2 in this series! Well done Pepper.
