DECEMBER 6, 2016     CONGRATULATIONS PEPPER BASHAM! IT'S RELEASE DAY FOR           "THE THORN HEALER" Wow! It's been a crazy year, but after lots of hard work and some brainstorming help from my super duper brainstorming team and agent, Julie Gwinn - we have a new book baby!! Yes! Today, the third book in the Penned in Time series is here! This book is a little different than its two predecessors. Here are a few differences: The Thorn Bearer used both the Blue Ridge Mountains and England for settings. The Thorn Keeper used England.  The Thorn Healer takes place completely in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The Thorn Bearer (TTB) and The Thorn Keeper (TTK) are best read together, but  The Thorn Healer (TTH) can stand alone - although you might enjoy it more if yousee how the heroine, Jessica, changes from book one to book three. Though The Thorn Bearer has follows the timeline of the sinking of the...

DECEMBER 2, 2016 Happy Friday! Do you have big plans for the weekend? Everyone seems to be hustling and bustling getting ready for Christmas. I know I have been but I also need to remember that I need to prepare my heart for Christmas. To focus on the birth of Jesus and what that means for us and to us as believers. I hope you know Jesus. He really is the "Reason for the Season" and the best gift we receive. I finished reading Julie Klassen's latest book, "The Innkeeper of Ivy Hill." As with all of Julie's book, I completely enjoyed it. I cheered for Jane, was suspicious of Patrick and undecided about Thora. I was relieved and surprised on the outcome. You must read the book! Blessings, Karen Hadley I received this book for my honest review. Rating: 5 stars The lifeblood of the Wiltshire village of Ivy Hill is its coaching inn, The Bell. But when the innkeeper dies suddenly, his genteel wife, Jane Bell, becomes the reluctant owner. Jane has no...

NOVEMBER 28, 2016 GOOD MORNING!! I hope everyone is rested after Thanksgiving and Black Friday. My sweet husband and I had a great Thanksgiving but did not attempt the stores on Friday. I mean, lines that you wait in for hours and you may or may not get the item you are wanting. My prayer is that the gusto, patience and enthusiasm that is shown on Black Friday would carry over to Sunday every week. To be in church to worship the Creator of this world. We have nothing apart from Him. There is nothing, no sales, no lines, no waiting for hours that can take the place of worship. We need the church and the church needs us. Blessings, Karen Hadley

Karen's Thoughts November 20, 2016 Happy Thanksgiving Week!!! In the part of the country I live we are still having 70 -80 degree weather. I have flowers I planted back in May that are still blooming. Crazy! You know what else is crazy, finding out that your life isn't what you thought it was. If you have never read a book by Jen Turano I advise to quickly remedy and start reading. She is one of my favorite authors. In her new release "Finding Margo" she has again written a best seller. This story is crammed with out of this world characters, busybodies, suspense and drama. Do you ever wish you had a different life? Read the book to find out what happens when Margo discovers secrets too long buried. Get comfortable 'cause you aren't going to stop until you finish the entire book.  Blessings, Karen Hadley Rating: 5 I recieved a copy of this book for my honest review.
