JUNE 23, 2015      I just love to read, don’t you? I mean who doesn’t? Karen Hadley's Review of "The Thorn Bearer" by Pepper D. Basham “The Thorn Bearer” has been in my TBR list and I could hardly wait to read it.   This is written by Pepper D. Basham and she hits it out of the park. It is a historical romance and I enjoyed learning about the Lusitania Ocean Liner. She weaves the facts into an amazing story of letting go of the past,   being set free of the chains of guilt and redemption by an Awesome God!   The way she addresses an unfortunate yet hideous evil will help those who know first hand of this horrific crime. Pepper opens up truth I never gave much thought to in regards to the victims. The relationships that are affected and the guilt the victims carry are overwhelming. It is also about second chances, new beginnings and changes of the heart, beliefs and attitudes that only God can bring. Toward the en

JUNE 20, 2015  Good Afternoon,    I hope everyone is having a great Saturday! As I shared before we have been getting quite a bit of rain here in Oklahoma but today it is clear and beautiful. I wanted to take time to post my review after I finished reading Ronie Kendig's book "RAPTOR 6". Karen Hadley's Review of "Raptor 6" by Ronie Kendig   WOW! As I begin to write this my heart begins to pound. This is the first book I have read by Ronie and I was so impressed by her writing skills. As I  think about the characters, their responsibilities, the scenes, the expert areas of each of the characters and all the other information in the book, she does an incredible job of creating her stories. Captain Watters and Zarrah are the hero and heroine of the story and you will find their courage in all they face as an inspiration in anything you may be facing in your own life. There were times I had to break from my reading to calm my heartbeat down, wipe my
JUNE 16, 2015 Good Morning! I live in the great state of Oklahoma and we have been having a deluge of rain. I'm thankful for the rain, it has replenished our lakes, ponds and rivers that desperately needed to be filled up after a serious drought a few years back. During my time with the Lord this morning, He gave me the prayer listed below. I hope this is an encouragement to some one today who needs to be reminded that God is in control of everything! Holy Spirit rain upon me refreshment, godly focus, integrity and compassion. May I be soaked thoroughly with Jesus that I squish of His love, compassion and care. Holy Spirit wash away the disappointments of life, the mundaneness and dreariness of everyday living and flood me with enthusiasm for each day simply because of Jesus. Flood me with your joy for my parched soul, to emit encouragement and kind words for family, friends and the others my path crosses. Strike my thoughts with Jesus and embed Your Word into every space of my

I am totally enjoying finding authors I didn't know about and  Jen Turano is one of them! Gentleman of Her Dreams, A Change of Fortune and A Most Peculiar Circumstance are Great Reads! I started reading one and before I knew it I had devoured two more and am looking forward to reading Jen's other books. Review for Gentleman of her Dreams by Jen Turano. This is a novella that centers around Charlotte, Hamilton and Henry. We can all relate to Charlotte as she believes God has told her specifically who she is to marry only to find out that who she thought was the right man was the wrong man (not a bad man just not her man) Sometimes we want something so bad we convince ourselves that it is God's will. Yet, when we use God in that way we are headed for disaster. We can't make His will line up with our wants. We have to pray asking God to line us up with His will, and only in that do we find peace. Charlotte eventually learns this and realize who she wanted was there

JUNE 10, 2015   Read the prequel to Jody’s An Uncertain Choice! In this historical romance novella by Jody Hedlund, young Rosemarie finds herself drawn to Thomas, the son of the nearby baron. But just as her feelings begin to grow, a man carrying the Plague interrupts their hunting party. While in forced isolation, Rosemarie begins to contemplate her future—could it include Thomas? Could he be the perfect man to one day rule beside her and oversee her parents’ lands? Then Rosemarie is summoned back to her castle in haste. The disease has spread, and her family is threatened. And the secret she discovers when she returns could change her future forever. Karen Hadley's Review for "The VOW" by Jody Hedlund             One of the best prequel story I have read. I finished it in one read and immediately went to the novel "An Uncertain Choice" to read more of RoseMarie's life. This is classified as Young Adult and I am not "young"  I thoroughly e

June 4, 2015 It is because of who we know - Jesus, He alone is good, He alone is awesome, He alone died to save us from eternal death and rose to give us eternal life. It doesn't matter what the world says or thinks about us. God only matters! Worldly things will pass but God will not. He was, He is and He will always be! Are you leaving a legacy for your children? What kind of legacy? Is it money? Land? Stuff? They can't take it with them either when they go. But we can leave them a godl y legacy. The example of putting Christ first, of relying on Christ through every up and down life throws our way. Being so in love with Jesus that it shines through our eyes, in our smiles and seeps out our pores. It's being positive and praising God in the down and out days remembering all we have to be thankful for. Anyone with a disease that is not curable like multiple sclerosis struggle with the "why me?" But maybe we need to look at it "why not me, I'm no

JUNE 1, 2015 GOOD MORNING,   It's a beautiful Monday morning here in Oklahoma where we have been hard by rains that were desperately needed after a drought. The lakes and rivers and ponds are full. Yards are mushy (something my dachshund Jazzi loathes, she doesn't like getting her precious paws wet). You can always find something in whatever is going on around you. We can easily fall into a spiritual drought of discouragement, restlessness, hurts in any and all areas of life. We feel alone but we are not, even if we don't sense God's presence just be assured he has not and will not leave us. I often find that when I am in a spiritual drought it is usually because I have let the stuff of life take over and I dwell to much on it instead of feeding off of God's word, seeking God in prayer and as Psalm 46:10 says "Be still and know that I am God." Spending time with God includes me not only talking to Him but listening to Him. Then the much needed Spiritu
